It used to be that when you said “sci-fi,” people immediately thought of guys with pocket-protectors dressing up like aliens and going to conventions to talk about which is better, Star Trek or Babylon 5. But with the success of shows like Heroes and The Sarah Connor Chronicles, sci-fi is enjoying its spot in mainstream.

A Serenity fan on LiveJournal went to the Hub Conventions Serenity event this past weekend and reported some interesting news from guest Ron Glass (Shepherd Book from Firefly and Serenity). Dark Horse Comics will be publishing a new comic about the character of Book, set prior to the events we’ve already seen on the screen.
